sick

i just received an email linking me a flickr user who had favourited a pic of one of the girls. this person is clearly NOT the kind of person i would want to have looking at pics of my kids. i thought i had kept photos of the girls private but somehow this one missed out and fell into the hands of someone unwelcome. i have blocked the person, and rechecked that all pics of the kids are private, but i remind you all that the bigger flickr (and internet) world isn't as kind and safe as the little piece we frequent...

  3. I'm sorry to hear this! So, this person tried to set you up as a contact on flickr? I'm surprised they were being so obvious about it, but at least it gave you the chance to block them. Ick.

  6. ugh - how very upsetting for you. It amazes me how things get 'found' so easily. So sorry, but glad you have the opportunity to stop it.

I'm by no means naive, but I'm still at a loss as to how this happens? This is the third or fourth time I've heard about 'something weird and wrong' going on in the crafting blogworld, but it's usually a little vague.

So sorry! What a horrible feeling! Yuck.

It's such a kick in the guts for a Momma when that happens and I am sorry you had to go through it.

  12. I have thought about this too...we don't have children but are trying now and I thought about posting pics...once it happens...probably not now...

    I'm sorry this happened.

I am sorry you had this happen. I have just had a dilemma about some photos of our friends' and family's children - I have jsut set them to 'family only' so that they can be seen by us and by our chosen family contacts - its such a shame we have to be so careful.

  14. So sad Tracy. I see there are many of us in the same position - inspired by our children and wanting to share bits of our lives with (hopefully) like-minded folks. Really sorry this has happened.

  15. it's terrible. i had the same thing happen. luckily i get emails from flickr the moment someone favors my photo or adds me as a contact and i immediately check them out. if they are creepy i block them and report them to flickr immediately and flickr gives them the boot.

i think you can adjust your flickr settings to notify you immediately of any activity on your photos.
    best,
