in the end, the kids ended up wanting to be outside more than in. (except e - who could have spent all day looking at the jewellry and other treasures from a recent excavation in georgia. we will go back for more of this.) the gardens are beautiful. so who am i to argue?

manitoba prairie summer i miss you.

we returned to 100 degrees. in the shade.

summers here are a lot like winters in manitoba i guess. stuck indoors. though it is much more comforting to me to be huddled around the fire rather than sprawled around the fan.
