now we are six
When I was one I'd just begun,
When I was two I was nearly new,
When I was three I was hardly me,
When I was four I was not much more,
When I was five I was barely alive,
But now I am six! As clever as clever!
And I think I'll stay six now for ever and ever!
oh how i wish you would my love! it is all passing by so quickly. but it does keep getting better and better. my baby is six. she didn't want a birthday party this year. so we had an unbirthday party last night with our neighbourhood friends. she didn't want a cake. so i made brownies. she didn't want anyone to sing to her. so we hummed the tune as she smiled that marvellous smile that lights up my heart. happy birthday big bug. i do love you.
thank you a.a. milne

happy birthday! i love when they don't want a party....
happy birthday to your sweet girl!
You daughter is my kind of girl. What a wonderful unbirthday party! What a fabulous noncake!
i don't like most cake, people celebrating my birthday, or singing to me either, e. happy birthday!
also, happy new year and new sewing machine!!
happy happy birthday! that's one of my favorite poems - and wouldn't it be nice!?
Hmmm....wonder where that 'bucking convention" attitude comes from? ;-)
happy birthday e.!

(and some of my favorite memories are of my mum reading me the books of milne poems for kids...so great)
Oh happy day big bug!
Happy Birthday E! That poem always makes the hair stand up on my neck a little, I just love it! I love six, so "big" yet the world is still so wonderous!
Happy un-Birthday, E!
Six is the best.
how is this even possible? happy birthday e!
Happy birthday! We are all about the no party, no singing, un-birthdays around here too. Totally understandable.
Happy six, E! Brownies are better than cake, I think.
