day thirty - 07:25 done
oooh. thanks again carol for the inspiration! and i think it was just what i needed...
random
thirty for thirty...
1. taking pictures every day is hard.
2. i didn't really realize how important socal lighting is to my pics. until we had some grey days.
3. the quality of the shots was much more erratic than i had wanted.
4. but it was honest. and that is important to me too.
5. i miss film.
6. santa please fill my stocking with film.
7. 35 mm and Polaroid. please.
8. most of my pics are taken with someone pulling at my sleeve. or calling my name.
9. i rarely have a moment alone.
10. for thanksgiving d gave me an unexpected day to myself. my first since e was born. thank you!
11. when i had a day to myself i didn't know what to do with it!
12. it is my nature to want to "take care" of people. hence my job taking care of someone. and my mothering. and my joining the pta.
13. this pta thing can get the best of ya. be warned.
14. it is important to step back and see the big picture. it makes it much more rewarding.
15. my dad used to always say "you can please all of the people some of the time; some of the people all the time, but you can't please all of the people all of the time." he was a smart man.
16. i still lie in bed at night and wonder if we should have made a different education choice.
17. shanna is constantly inspiring me. not only artistically. but spiritually. thank you my friend.
18. i feel so lucky to be able to say that.
19. i am so ready for christmas. and my mom's arrival. mostly my mom's arrival.
20. i am absolutely in love with my dear dear friend's pink tree. and her son's too. the apple - or should i say vintage ornament - doesn't fall far from the tree!
21. i love the direction hannah is taking this year. i want to follow her lead. set limits and challenge expectations of what gift giving means.
22. i think that shari's compound word project, and her handmade for the holidays posts are brilliant.
23. i am in love with my 2007 calendar. is it wrong to want to caress your calendar??
24. i still must make a trio of these.
25. and finish these. (does advent really begin on friday?!)
26. oh these posts are good.
27. i am fighting an overwhelming urge to pack up the family and move north(north vancouver please) to the snow.
28. i am canadian after all
29. i obviously have had a hard time being quiet for thirty days!
30. thank you for sticking through this with me.
see you in december!

Well done Tracy, I've enjoyed everyday of november with you.
I love your photographs but I know what you mean about someone pulling at your sleeve whilst you're taking your shot! ;) I have that very frequently!
Well, I think your photo month was wonderful. I didn't visit often enough but I've just scrolled back through all the posts. Really inspiring. I am pretty sure I am going to shut up for a month and do the same. Probably not til January though. I don't think I am be still with Christmas coming :-)
brilliant exercise! well done, you should be proud of the beautiful photos this past 30 days has produced.
i loved all the pictures but is SO NICE to hear/read your voice again, too! any chance d wants to give you a weekend away up here? yeah... i thought so. hurray for december.
your pictures have been lovely and inspiring - welcome back...look forward to reading about your December
Tracy,
I have loved your photos this month. Honest is a great word for them. It really gave us some insight into who you are, and that is so good. Thank you!
I agree with Melissa -- loved the photos, but missed your voice, too!
congrats on a job so well done. i was happy to see your visuals every day.
and the list today is excellent. welcome back fingers.... :)
Congratulations on your month! Ive loved them all.
North Van would welcome you anytime! Congratulations on your 30 days. Really great shots and tidbits of life. Thanks for letting us in.
Just wanted to say that I agree with everyone else... I've so enjoyed your daily photos, but it's lovely to read your words again. :)
alone time, i love the sound of that. but i think i too would not know what to do with myself. keep your fingers crossed, eliot and i are going to target tomorrow to shop for the foster kids. i foresee a big lesson ahead and i dont know if i am ready... i have loved everyday of your images and am surprised that thirty days has already gone by! i will chime in with everyone and say it is good to hear from you again.
Ahh my dear that was great...the photos were (and will continue to be) fantastic, and I share your desire for film...sigh! My fantasy might be a digital SLR, but that will remain a fantasy I fear ;-)
Trying to simplify and enjoy this Christmas. Unfortunately my family isn't on the simplify bandwagon...oh well. Shouldn't let that stop me.
And North Van opens it's warm (or rather, snowy) arms to you anytime! ;-)
i love that you went through the whole process. i can tell that you gained so much from it, quite the learning experience. i would love to follow in your footsteps.
your shots were amazing.
I know a house for rent on Bowen Island - much more character than North Vancouver! Thanks for your kind thoughts when I closed down lifeonbowen... we are settling here in DC, and sad to be missing the great snowstorms that are hitting Bowen and Vancouver these last weeks.
By the way, American thanksgiving had nothing on the Canadian one this year - but thankfully, this coming holiday season is lovely in either location. Wishing you a wonderful LA holiday time (and we can both imagine the snow!).
Cheers.
i have loved your thirty days tracy. i think the hardest part for me (besides posting daily) would be the absence of writing. but you did it all beautifully...xo.
thanks so much everyone. i did miss the writing. . .
and jennifer, that house on bowen is very tempting!
