Oh, those glasses are fab! And I too, envy the arrival of your chicks. They're banned in the 'city' (ahem) that we live in, but I threaten to go undercover all the time. ;) I hope we'll get a peek at them!

Such pretty glasses for lemonade by the pool.

Fun! My dad keeps chickens. The only advice I have is close them up at night. (inside something with a door that latches shut.)

Soooo jealous about the chickens!! What are the regulations down there re livestock? We tried to get a permit when we were living in west vancouver, and had to get OKs from all neighbours - we had 7 neighbours, 6 said OK, 1 said no. Sigh.

There were chickens in the portuguese neighbourhood I lived in in TO too - remember walking home one day and there was a chicken walking up the sidewalk on the other side of the street - kind of weird in the middle of high density housing. Teenage girl is walking toward me, I point and say "there's a chicken over there!" She gives me the withering boy you're an idiot look that teens master so easily and said "It's not mine" Too funny.
Not sure what natural preditors (cats? coyotes?) there are around but make sure you have a well secured pen!!
There is nothing as yummy as a free range egg :)

My older son's after school care provider has a chicken (here in the city) -she used to have two, but one day she leaned in to the coop to get some eggs, and the chicken grabbed her earring off her ear and ate it. And then she died:(
so watch out for your earrings....
