Re espresso maker: I scrubbed what I could reach and then ran it with vinegar water through it several times. It took more times than I thought it would! Hot vinegar sure is stinky. From what I've read, it's easier to use purified water regularly to make the espresso than to clean the lime. It's a pain!
I was just in your land last weekend. I spent the entire trip delirious with bronchitis and probably infecting everyone in LA. Sorry. :)

i always use a descaling solution [store bought] to get rid of the lime.
