not exactly downtown - but close - we finally made it to mercado la paloma. a great foodcourt concept across from the usc campus dedicated to creating local economies, providing services, promoting arts and culture, and building community. we ate a very yummy meal of tacos de pescado at chichen itxa
i love downtown l.a. - and am happy to be spending more time here. there are many great restaurants. yesterday we ran over to mas malo on 7th. i am still thinking about the hardshell potato eggplant taco - and "the senorita". the restaurant is housed in an old jewellery store with great high ceilings and murals on the walls. (i love downtown's architecture and am so happy to see great spaces being preserved. david and i got married on a rooftop down here over a decade ago when so many of these storefronts were empty and rundown.)
