now.i.know

that i cannot get everything done in the weekend that i hope for

that we will miss our aging neighbors who have moved on to more manageable accomodations (and left us some vintage treasures including the pictured book to remember them by)

that it can be very very hard to grow old

that family is so very very important

that it doesn't really matter if i get everything done in the weekend that i hoped for

but that it does matter that we spend time together

oh what a truly meaningful post. you said it all, may we come to know our neighbors better and love the family we have. not everything needs to be done by monday or even by the end of the month.

SO true!

So true indeed! I think we all need a reminded sometimes and it is sad when it means a big change, like your elderly neighbours/friends moving, makes it happen.

spending time together is always on the top of my small goals list. sorry to see your neighbors go, i know you were building a community, hopefully someone will take there spot and add something new.

as you well know, all you will really remember is time spent together...certainly not the cobwebs and the dustbunnies. letting go is such a daily thing, i have to tell myeslf to ease through the day rather than become compulsive on a regular basis!

your neighbors will miss you, too! there have been really wonderful people in my grandparent's lives (from their street) who have continued to see them even after they were moved into care...

i'm a firm believer in people first-- it is full of its own kind of heartache at times, but it ALWAYS comes out the right way in the end.

thanks all. i didn't expect their move to affect me so much. of course all the listed seentiments i knew already - but something really clicked with their departure. it was a very sad day. the husband had been ill for quite some time and would be moving into a care facility while the wife is going to a condo near her grandchildren. this is the house that they raised their kids in - and you could feel all that energy out as the trucks were packed up...
