Corners of Our Home 22

where you get to see the result of a year's worth of work. yes, this do-it-yourself project is taking that long. and hear that we are almost, yes almost!, finished. (see Corners of Our Home 7. looks alot like the inspiration pic, don't it?)

enter from our bedroom through the custom made pocket door. custom made by d.

and step onto my favorite flooring. cork. and look over for a view of our "baby blue bathroom" (as the bugs refer to it).

cork meet tile

left on the list: shelving; drawer faces; counter top; mirror; sinks and fixtures; lighting over vanity... oh and baseboards. (someday.)

d. i am in awe of your craftsmanship. and perseverance. it is all worth it my dear.

for linens. i am thinking an unbleached hemp for the shower curtain and towels. what do you think?

So great Tracy!! Looks absolutely gorgeous. Well done D!
These projects do take forever when you do them yourself, but it's just so much more satisfying in the end (at least that's what I tell myself!)

Amazing. You'd better hope I never manage to make it down for a visit. I'll never leave. I'm in love with your house.

Way to go, D!

Eek! The bathroom is gorgeous! [Amazing job, D!] It is better than the inspiration photo...looks so serene. I love the pocket door...so clever. Unbleached hemp curtains will look fantastic.

P.S. When is your house going to be featured in Dwell? ;P

putting aside my jealousy to say it is just stunning! great craftmanship, d! and, yes, the hemp would bring just the right balance of earthiness to the sky-blue tiles.

Gorgeous, gorgeous! I love it so much. I love sky blues and naturals together, so your choices sound good to me. That cork must feel so nice in the morning. We have slate over a not-so-well-insulated addition, so it is *freezing* in the morning. Enjoy!

love the tile. i so wish i had splurged on better tile when we did our bathroom redo, i was just so strapped finacially! i had bizazza (sp?) tiles picked out and when we did the math it was like 4 grand just for the tiles. no way! so i have boring white squares...at least it is better than the plastic orange faux marble that was there before. ick!

Such beautiful tile. I can only aspire to such a bathroom. Certainly inpsiration, though.

this looks just like a photo out of the Jane Cumberbatch Pure Style Living book I've been looking at over coffee all afternoon. Just the perfect shade of blue. Gorgeous!

Wow! It really does look like the inspiration photo. In fact, yours could be a magazine photo. I'm really impressed with the before and after, and that you've done it yourselves. You must be proud! We put it one of those shampoo nooks in our shower re-do, and it's so handy!

I'm arriving late to this party since I was out of town sans laptop, but as a fellow do-it-yourselfer, I just have to echo how gorgeous this is. Seems to me all that's missing are some lavender bath salts!

Oh man, I heart your house. If you lived near me I would totally stalk it! This puts my bathroom remodel to shame, but that's okay because this is not our "forever" house.
Love that tile!
