we are worried about it. all its beauty. its amazing expanses of untouched wilderness. and its lovely inhabitants. say a little prayer...
we hope to be home tomorrow. more to come...
up early this morning to hear the fire is still blazing. people evacuated. more prayers... looking forward to getting home.

it looks like some of the people have been allowed to return home... it's so unusual for an island to catch on fire!?!

we didn't need to leave early - thank goodness. they stopped letting tourists on the island monday. we had departed sunday.
and yes, i think it is strange for an island. i was told that it was the first fire of any seriousness in over 300 years!!
